A Little Update

I just submitted a bunch of photos from Christmas (THAT'S how far behind I am with my photos :)) - I went on a bit of a mono spree at the time so I've found a few favourites and put those up (this one and this one in particular).

I finished Uni in July and started full-time work only three days later, and since then it's been pretty much non-stop. I'm finding the transition quite difficult, and it's only now (on my first bit of holiday) that I've found the time to catch up with this stuff.

So thanks for bearing with me - I will try my best to keep up with my photos. I'm still watching all your deviations and grateful as always for the comments and faves! Not taking as many photos at the moment but still got a pretty extensive back catalogue that needs going through, so expect more from that soon.

Take care and thanks for watching! :)

Getting Behind, Again!

Okay, so I've been getting ridiculously behind with my photos yet again. Today I decided to take half an hour and get up to date with my deviantWATCH messages, and now that's done I'm wondering if I can justify spending some time going through some of my own photos! :P

My adCast experiment was a massive success - the ad went live late due to the Xmas rush and I was given double credits in compensation - even 1000 credits don't go that far though! The amount of hits I got was phenomenal - 1000 in less than a week, which is just incredible. It got me a lot of exposure, so I think I'm going to have to buy some more soon and do it all again! :D

I'm still doing video work as well - got a new site up at www.jayvideo.co.uk which is turning into a fun ongoing project! :)

Will do my best to submit some photos soon - I still have so many from Paris and from Christmas that need scrutiny! :O

End of Term, adCast, Video Ventures

Another very much delayed journal entry :).

End of Term
The last day of the Autumn term is tomorrow so I will be home very shortly, straight back to work pretty much! This term hasn't given me much opportunity for photography other than my visit to Paris, which was a while ago now - expect photos from that weekend soon :).

adCast
I recently bought some dA adCast credits, and have submitted the following ad. If anyone sees it, let me know!

adCast Ad 1

Given the amazing price of the credits I figured that even if this got me a handful of extra hits it would be worth the investment, so here we are. I've heard good things about the programme so am eagerly anticipating some good results.

My only gripe was that in order to be accepted, the ad must be the size above but also less than 45KB, which was a total pain - had to strip out a lot of the detail and reduce quality, hence the large amount of blank space in the image above!

Video Venture
I recently bought a Sony Handycam, as I've always wanted to have a play with making videos. I put a couple of shorts up on YouTube featuring my flatmate and his interesting reactions to being placed on the "farm" I call home several weeks ago. You can check them out on my YouTube channel - let me know what you think :). My brother is a keen BMX rider so I'm hoping to make some video with him when I get home - just bought a fisheye lens for my camcorder so let's hope it's worth it :D.

That's about it for now - thanks for watching :).

Quickie Update

I've finally finished updating all my prints (I didn't appreciate quite how many there were until I had to go back and edit, save and reupload every single one :P).

And better yet, I've finally got round to submitting some new photos. I'm working through my pics from Cornwall (August) and will hopefully move on to more recent stuff soon!

I've also got a new lens, the EF-S 17-85 IS USM, which seems to be a pretty awesome piece of kit thus far :D.

Back to Uni on the 28th; hopefully will post a more detailed update before then :). I've also got "make funky journal with CSS" on my to-do list :P.

Hope you're all okay, thanks for watching :) :highfive:.

  • Watching: Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear
I'm back home for the summer after another hectic term! :)

Hopefully I'll get a chance to do some shooting soon; I've got a couple of sessions planned with some friends so we'll see!

I've also decided to update my entire prints portfolio to remove titles from the pieces, replacing them instead with a more generic tag. Some of my titles are great but others not so much, so I'm hoping this will make my work that bit more desirable :). This will be happening when I find time over the next few weeks.

Not much else to report! Hope you're all doing okay, and thanks for watching. :D
